Certified Semen Freezing Locations

as having achieved certain standards are permitted to display the
Certified Semen Freezing Location on their advertising and websites!
Equine-Reproduction.com staff have been successfully freezing semen for over 10 years, and are able to travel throughout the USA to achieve on-farm freezing of stallions' semen. It can however be more convenient, and in some cases successful, if the semen freezing is performed at a fixed location. In order to achieve this, Equine-Reproduction.com is developing a network of locations where its staff will periodically be present to perform freezing services. By using the same staff, and certified locations, we believe we can provide a more standardized performance than that offered by some businesses that set up "satellite locations" with persons other than the main company's personnel performing the freezing services. Standardization and quality control are important and may not always be achieved if there is not a close supervision of the freezing equipment, supplies and process by the parent company.
In order to become an Equine-Reproduction.com Certified Semen Freezing location, Equine-Reproduction.com staff have previously frozen semen at that facility and found the following required criteria to be present:
- A well-run professional facility with suitable animal housing;
- Clean, efficiently run breeding lab with adequate equipment;
- A safe breeding mount in a safe breeding shed or suitably enclosed area;
- Competent personnel who have a good working knowledge of stallion handling and semen collection techniques;
- An adequate supply of appropriate tease mares.
