This may be a silly post, but here goes. I have a mare that was checked 30days in foal. Had been a problem mare...spent two breeding seasons getting her to the 30 day mark, this time using Regumate. My question is this. I noticed when cleaning her teats yesterday that she had a very VERY small swelling in front of each teat. Is this just hormonal or should I be worried she is losing the pregnancy? She is on Regumate so it can't be associated with her cycling...right?
p.s. It is possible I just haven't noticed it before since she was at a breeding farm until last week and I hadn't spent to much time down there! ;)

I had a maiden mare develop this "pre-udder" at about 4 months along, but I can't really answer your specific question, sorry!

Thanks for the info, I just wanted to make sure others have seen something like this. Its not much of an udder, but I worry since we have had such a hard time getting her to "stick" so to speak. She has an u/s on Friday so I guess I will know for sure then. P.S. she is a maiden as well.
