One of my mares stayed at the breeding farm a couple of weeks after she was bred. When I picked her up I was told she was wormed with Ivermectin at 30 days in foal. I have always waited to worm my mares around the 60 days in foal mark. The vets at this huge breeding farm said they have never had a problem worming mares at this time.

Should I be worried? How can this affect my mares embryo?

I heard the same thing but I was advised by my vet to worm my mare with ivermectin which I did at 45days, I hadnt heard about the 60 rule then - Mare and foal were both fine and vet never mentioned any problems it might cause so I guess its just a precuation some people feel better to take. Dont panic, whats done is done and Im sure it will be fine anyway : )
