My pregnant mare coliced the other day and now I know why. She ate some moldy grain it was only about 1/4 scoop of grain and it was a very mild colic. What I am wondering is my mare is 5 months pregnant will this harm the growing fetus? I am extremly concerned about the foal. I know the foal is still alive as when the vet checked her he could feel the foal moving. What kind of damage can mold cause to the fetus if any? Any help would be very much appreciated. I am extremly worried that this will harm the fetus even though it was such a little amount. Also she did not colic until 2 days after eating the moldy grain. Please advise.
Thank You, Brittany
