I have this tb mare she is roughly 13 years old. She is pregnant! I am not sure how far along she is , I got her back in sept. very very skinny. In this past month she put on alot of weight. is eating alot! as well as drinking like a camal!. She is moody and has never been before. Her vulva is open a little bit?? being that she was skinny and being a tb and a first time mommy that i am aware of. How big is she expected to get? thank you.

It depends how far along she is. I breed TB's as well. Do you have any idea of when she might have been covered or can you post pictures. When was she confirmed in foal?

Could it be that she is wormy and that accounts for the belly? Or, has she been confirm in foal?

A good equine repro vet can measure their eye socket and tell you approximately how far along she is....you might consider that. Can't really say how big she'll get, as that's like asking "how blue is the sky?"...Some mares get HUGE, and others not so much....learn what the key signs to imminent foaling are, and watch for them!

Thank you for all your responses. These pics are about 2 weeks old she is abit bigger than that now. I had thought it was worms about a month ago. and iwas nervous becuase they are on a routine worming schedule. So I know it is not worms. I had tryed a human pregnancy test i was told it worked before getting the vet out. and it came up positive. and she has every other sign so I am treating it as if she is bred. After looking at the pics if you can tell me what you think thanks.

Human pregnancy tests will not work on equines! They test for a HUMAN hormone called HCG....that is completely different from horse hormone PMSG.

Also, if she was very skinny when you got her, mares tend to put on weight on their bellies first...of the pics you posted, none of them "scream" prego to me. The udder shot looks like one of an unbred mare, at least not one who's going to foal in the next 2 months or so. Please let us know what the vet's diagnosis is!
