Topi, my mare, not pregnant, was (i guess) kicked by my older mare yesterday. It was toward the back of her belly near where belly meets her thigh. It was bleeding and open so I washed it and sprayed furazone. This morning it was fairly swollen about the size of 1/2 an orange or slightly smaller. Seems tender but she does let me wash it and spray more furazone. Any suggestions, could it be dangerous, or probably just a common injury from horses kicking. Thanks.
Well, its already looking a lot better, still some swollen. It seems like all my horses get kicked there a lot. Right in that soft spot of their bellies toward the back on the side. I guess this is normal. Establishing the order.
