okay, so it is the middle of June and my arabian mare is STILL not showing strong heat to the stud. she showed really good last year, really obvious, but this year has yet to break down. she will walk over to the fence and sniff at him, doesnt try to kill him or anything, but no squating, peeing, anything. i was wondering if she could be transitional this late in the year, or if she might have a hormonal issue??? what do you guys think?

It sounds as though you may have a case of silent estrus. Checking the mare with ultrasound and/or a blood-progesterone assay will confirm cyclicity status. Use of repeated ultrasound will allow detection of estrous stage. As long as the mare is shown to be cycling, you may want to consider using P&E or biorelease altrenogest from BET Pharmacy.

so if im reading the website right, one 10 ml dose of P+ LA and then one injection of PGF2 10 days later will make her come into heat?

As long as she is cycling (it won't work on an anestrus mare), and in most cases - nothing is absolute. There is still no guarantee that she will display estrus - she may still be silent - but at least you will be able to follow her with ultrasound, and have fewer vet calls to do so, as she should be on time (hopefully!).
