Now normally I would just say its due to hormones. She is starting to get a little saggy udder. Normally she was always very tight up to her body--she is a maiden. Only reason I am worried is we did TRY to breed her last year --to make a long story short I had a stud sold him but retained a breeding--it was late in the season so I short cycled her then took her ot the stud and even though she was in full heat she would not stand for him and would kick anytime he tried to mount. I told the new owners to absolutely NOT pasture breed her-- just hand breed. When i went to get her was told she would not stand for him at all
Now lots has happened and I do not trust the people that had him(he has since died because they didn't take care of him)
So I am thinking she may have been bred. A friend of mine took her mare there too and they ONLY pastured bred her mare.........
I will be getting her checked in a few weeks because i have bought a breeding to another stud for this year
So I guess I am asking would a mare get a little puffy in her udder due to hormones even though she has not ever before?
