Hi
My mare is approximately 7 months into her pregnancy (maiden). The last few days she has decided her tummy is off bounds! She strikes out with her back legs and stamps her front ones. She is normally very easygoing so was wondering if shes just uncomfortable or perhaps hormones etc. She will let me give her a light brush on her sides (whilst keeping an eye on me lol) but thats it. The last few weeks I have been trying to get her used to having her udder handled which is NOT going well do you think it has maybe just ticked her off and shes fed up. Or should I be concerned
Thanks

Kit, I think its pretty normal for some mares to be grouchy when you start to mess with them differently. My mare decided that pregnancy is a good time to be scratched any and everywhere, but normally she is like yours.
But, If she seems touchy in a way that has you worried she is in pain call your vet and ask for his opinion. Better safe than sorry!
