My Trakehner mare gets eaten alive in the summer, it's already starting. She destroys fly sheets, I do keep a fly mask on her. I used Endure fly spray, it helps on all the others, but not this poor mare. She is pregnant, due March of next year. I heard garlic was not good for horses. Is there any secret recipe of some sort, safe for pregnant mares?

I am not sure if it is good for them or not but we have been useing it n two of our horses andit does not work at all. They have been on it for 4 weeks and the flys are as bad on them as they are on the rest of them.

apple cider vinegar in the feed. Also, someone on here said 1/3 mouthwash, 1/3 fly spray, and 1/3 vinegar sprayed on helps tremendously
There is also a new product called Equi spot...it's like the stuff you dab on dog's backs for fleas....I recently purchased it to do it on a few of my mares as a test...and it WORKS

My vet uses Bronco for pregnant horses. I tried it and it seems to work well.
