Does anyone know of any joint supplements that can be given to pregnant mares?
My mare has recently gone slightly unsound on one of her hind legs. She is 14 years old and my vet thinks it could be arthritis; however she has really improved since having Liquid Devils Claw in her food.
My problem is I know you can't feed Devils claw to a pregnant mare and my mare is going to be covered by my stallion. I want to try and keep her sound so I can keep her fit in the early stages of pregnancy but I can't find any supplements that are suitable for pregnant mares. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thank you
I use GLC 5500+, it says it is safe for all stages of Equine Development, I give it to all my mares, no issues. It is great for arthritis, I see differences in the mares that I know have arthritis. The supplement that I prefer, Next Level, isn't proven safe in pregnant mares, so I stick with GLC for the broodmares.
