I just thought I'd post some pics of my mare. She's due to foal in April, and I just found out for sure that's she's pregnant :-). These aren't the best pics of her, but better than nothing! I just feel like sharing them cuz I'm so excited. Lol.

Lol, I'm not really sure! Some people said that sometimes they get hay belly and it can look like they're pregnant, and I just didn't want to get my hopes up until I was really sure. I am a little worried though, cuz the vet said my mare needs to gain about 100 to 150 lbs. before she has the baby, so I hope I can get her there by April!

Hi Emily, does she have a pretty good appetite? Did the vet palpate to see if she is pregnant?

Yeah, she has a really good appetite. Lol. Yeah the vet did, and felt the baby kicking and stuff. It's pretty active; I see it kick quite a bit, so I hope that's a good sign!

Oh good, if she has a good appetite she should'nt have any trouble putting on weight. How cool, you can feel so much movement! April is just around the corner! I will post pics of Tosh soon!

Congratulations Emily, it's cool you don't have too long to wait. I'm sure you can get the weight on. Alfalfa hay or cubes should do the trick. :-)

I started feeding her alfalfa pellets tonight, and I moistened them first, and she seemed to take to it! I'm still not quite sure how much I should give her though...
