This may be a stupid question, but when my other mare was pregnant I didn't really pay close attention to when she started to show as I was barrel racing her in competition till her later months, but how soon before a mare will start to show signs of pregnancy on light work?
Well I am off the opinion that when a mare is in foal, she starts to show physical shigns about 25- 30 days in, not in the way of her belly getting bigger off course, but it has been my experiance that, if you know your mare well, they change there natures and become softer, they also start to really shine in there coats and just look well. Not unlike a pregnant woman. I have a lady who breeds her mares to our stallion and she can always tell when her mares are in foal even before they are checked by a vet ... she has never been wrong either.
