My mare foaled May 12 and approx 4 weeks ago my mare started getting diarrhea. I have had 3 vets look at her, tried pepto bismalt, yoghurt, and a stomach sponge which was tubed down her throat. All the vets are scratching their heads. She is loosing weight, and is dehydrated. She has had 3 blood test, the most recent today. It came back with some questions. Tomorrow the internist will do a biopsy on her stomach. She is lively, eats a lot of hay, drinks a lot of water. Her filly is fine, no problems there at all. Any one have any suggestions?
Have you tried organic unpasturized Apple cider vinegar?
Otherwise I would put her on u-gard 2x or U-7 (ulcer treatment/preventative) and probios.
I hope your mare gets better soon.
