Depends on the size of your mare (I think it's 10cc per 1,000lbs), and what your vet recommends, but for my draft mare (she weighs 2,080lbs on a scale), she was on 21cc daily from about 5 days post ovulation until the 120th day. Then we weaned her off the Regumate over the course of a couple of weeks.
If your vet writes prescriptions, you can buy Regumate online for about 230.00 for 1,000ml. The vets around here charge anywhere from 300 - 350 for the 1,000ml of Regumate.
I'm thrilled to say that after two years of having an open mare, she delivered a lovely, HUGE, grey filly this year, we were thrilled!
How long the mare is on it is based on why the mare was put on it.
There are three time points for taking mares off Regumate: 40-45 days the mare has formed secondary CLs around this time and has increased progesterone levels 120-150 days the the placenta is producing hormones to sustain the pregnancy day 310 in the case of suspected placentitis or prematurely softening cervix
My mare was on it for 310 days with the last foal.
