I have a 6 year old maiden pony mare that I am breeding this year. We have been waiting for her to show signs of coming into heat. She shows no signs, but we are using geldings to tease her with. Vet was out this am to ck my mom's mare for pregnancy, so I had her ck'd just to see where she's at. He did speculum and said she is closed up tight and sticky. Did not see a need to do an u/s as she was doing nothing. I planned to take the pony to the breeder to have her bred, etc., anyway, so I just loaded her up and took her today. Breeder had her vet out later this afternoon. She just texted me and said pony is in heat, has a 28 follicle. I am so stumped and really confused now. WTH? Anyway, guess she will be getting bred in the next couple of days, so I timed that right anyway. HAHA

Both beautifull and should be a good match. Can't wait to see foal pic's next year.
