Tried posting this earlier, didn't go through...sorry if this is a re-run!

We bred our 5 year old maiden 2 years ago, took the second try. Aborted last year around 270 days due to infection. Got her cleaned out, tried two more times same season, did not take.

This year, we did a culture, came back with scant strep, but was possibly contaminated (skin cells on sample). Did an ampicillin infusion post breeding, no foal.

2nd breeding-- Did culture and cytology, both clear. She had an atypical cycle though. Was bred with a 35, given hcg, did not ovulate for a week. Was bred every other day throughout cycle, finally ovulated a 50 (never seen her go past a 45). Vet said he never like this cycle. We used the oxytocin protocol throughout the cycle. No foal.

We skipped the last cycle to hopefully regulate her after her odd cycle, now ready to try again!
We will do the oxytocin protocol again and use Regumate this time.

Stallion has good motility, has gotten several mares in this season. We are doing fresh AI.

Any thoughts? We have considered using Settle, have heard it is pretty pricey (how much?!), but maybe worth a try? Has anyone used it with success?

Anyone have a mare with similar problems?

Looking for any and all advice!
