I'm thinking of getting in contact with BET Lebs for a pregnancy test for my mare called estrone sulfate.

My mare who is only 2 yrs old may have been accidently bred before I bought her. She would be a minimum of 8.5-9 months along so I need answers now! Vets palpation was inconclusive.

Looking for information quickly so I can call them if it is reasonable.

Thanks!

BET Labs is associated with BET Pharmacy, both of which have been considered well-respected in their fields.

An estrone sulfate blood assay is considered a standard technique of determining pregnancy status.

Thanks Jos! By any chance do you know how much that test costs?

Hey Kim, if you go here, click on USA, then Equine, then pregnancy testing, it has all the information you can get about it. Also, a number to call for information. I wouldn't email them though, as you might not hear back for quite a while.

i know my vet charges like $85 for the estrone sulfate test...I believe it's expensive. LOL
I just thought maybe if you couldn't find the info there that you could just call them, and they'd be able to tell you?

Really, $85? That's not bad at all!

Palpation with my vet is $100 plus $40 for the sedative!
A blood test is so worth it at this point!

Thanks! I'll definitely call them tomorrow!

Mine runs me about $140 per horse if I didn't have another horse to split to split the vet call. That would cover vet call, sedation, palpation and ultra sound.

At my medical (or lack of) level, I like to have the vet actually see my horses. It gives me some peace of mind.

Thank you Kathee for your response! I totally agree with you and my vet has already been out to see my mare.

I just heard back from the other vet and they can do an estrone sulphate test for me! Will let everyone know how it turns out!

you could also try the "weefoal" urine test. It's very accurate. Check out their web-site. www.weefoal.com
It's not expensive either.
