My mare was breed via AI on April 9th. She is a madien mare and this is our first time trying to breed her this season. When the vet bred her on the 9th she had not yet ovulated but by the next day she had. This morning the vet ultrasounded for a pregnancy and was a little baffled(it is day 15). We could see her ovaries on the ultrasound but there was no activity. The vet said there was just nothing there and that she was not in foal but because it is only day 15 he will ultrasound again on Monday. He did say she had a lot of CL and could be an indicator of pregnancy or a pregnancy that did not stick. She has been teasing frequently and is not in heat and also she has not been eating all of her grain. Could she still be pregnant? Please help.

He did say she had a lot of CL

Multiple CL's are not an indication of pregnancy at 15 days. Pregnant mares do not start to produce secondary follicles and CL's until after about 36 days of pregnancy when eCG levels increase. Having said that, a lack of follicular activity at this point, may - note "may" - be indicative of a possible pregnancy state. It is wise to have her checked again as she could be in foal or she could have undergone early embryonic death.
