I'm a new miniature donkey owner hoping for advice quickly. We brought a pregnant jenny home yesterday. She's tested positive and we know the owners of the stud as well. After brushing off our stud's advances, she let him mount her last night and again this afternoon. I've been told repeatedly that a pregnant jenny won't allow this. Apparently she will - is it going to hurt her or her foal?

i would separate them immediately. I dont' know how far along your jenny is, but it is possible that if your jack penetrates the cervix, it will cause her to abort.

Welcome to the forum! Hopefully someone with more experience will come along with an answer. My experience with male donkeys is that they have a real hard time with no. Iíve seen male donkeys copulating with each other and Iíve seen a case where a goat was killed as a result of jumping into the pen with a male donkey after the donkey grabbed the goat by the scruff of the neck as he would a female donkey during a normal mating. For now I think the thing to do would be to keep him away from her. Good luck.
