I have a 20 year old quarter horse mare that is supposed to be 5 months pregnant. However ever since she came home from the stud I have noticed that she has been leaking a clear white liquid. I didn't really give it any thought because it has been 6 or 7 years since she has been bred, and i thought that maybe i am just watching her more closely since she is older or i thought that it is something to do with her age. i have never had any problem before during any of her pregnancies. however when she was about 3 months pregnant i noticed something wasnt' right what used to be drops of this fluid is now probably about a cup or two that she is leaking out. i thought that maybe it was just hormones, but now that she is 5 months pregnant i am beginning to wonder what is going on. i have noticed that she is doing it more often even though i may not see her do it when i walk through the field to feed her i notice that this fluid seems to be everywhere scattered throughout the field. yesturday i took an even closer look at it to see what it could be and it seems to be somewhat slimmy and i have no idea what it is i have been looking everywhere for an answere and i can't find one. her mood and all seems to be fine she eats and runs around with the other horses like she always has. |

I would recommend having the mare checked again by your veterinarian. Although the discharge may be nothing, it may also be indicative of an ongoing problem. |
