Does it make a difference if a mare is teased right before she is inseminated? My mares expel quite a bit and wondered if that would cause any problems.

My understanding is it would be better. There is a certain hormone being released when a mare is teased.
I don't under stand why none of the vets in forum did not reply.

I'm not a vet, but I'll answer anyway... :-)

What is your mare "expelling"? Semen is deposited directly into the uterus, so it is unlikely that she is expelling semen! If you are seeing something that looks like semen dropping to the ground after the stallion dismounts, it is almost certainly "gel fraction", not sperm rich fraction and is not to be worried about. It may also be urine if you are seeing the expulsion under pressure.

Teasing is a normal - and important - part of the live cover process, so do not be concerned about it.

Oxytocin is the hormone that is secreted when teasing takes place, but it is in such a low level that it will not be an issue, but may even be beneficial.
