Greetings from Maine, My mare was bred AI on June 1st with a 50mm follicle that had ovulated sometime within a 24 hour period. "The chances of establishing pregnancy, or experiencing early embryonic death increase significantly from about 12 hours post-ovulation" My question: what is the time period for EED, does it happen within the time period for rebreeding on the next cycle?}
EED is - by definition - death of the early embryo, and is therefore considered to occur up to about 14 days. Note that the quote you made refers to the likelihood of increased EED as a result of insemination or breeding more than 12 hours after the ovulation.
