Is it worth buying a used US? What would you recommend as the minimum specs for a suitable machine? Do the machines need to be serviced every year or so, what are the cost to keep the machine running? What else do we need to know before investing in one?
My personal feeling is that as one can buy a new Sonovet 600 (which for years was a staple of the industry) from Universal Ultrasound for about $4,500, unless you get a heckuva deal with a guarantee that it's in good working order, it's not worth the risk of buying a used U/S!
A good U/S should give years of service without needing servicing - especially if it's not being heavily used.
Other than the fact that you need to know how to use it, there really isn't much more to be said I don't think!
