We purchased a mare for breeding, and got her to the stud and live covered on her last day of standing heat. Was this too late for her to take?

It's hard to tell. It depends on when she ovulated. Some mares get pregnant very often on the last day of standing heat since it's close to when they ovulate.

Ideally, you only want to breed the mare once and that should be as close to ovulation as possible. As the previous poster says, it depends on when she actually ovulated. Let us know if she got preg.
