My neighbors mare was injured running through a fence. They gave her a shot of pennicilin and then Quartermaster. It's a paste with pharmacia & upjohn. penicillin-dihydrostreptomycin in oil. It's for bovine mastitis prevention and control in dry cows.
Tahnks for your help. The mare was due the day after it happened 3 days ago.

My "guess"is that it is ok. We have used the mastitis stuff before on horses with excellent results. I don't see any reason that it would hurt the foal.
