I have a 6 year old stallion & 4 year old Maiden mare that we are thinking of live covering. He IS a good stallion to handle and she is VERY showy in her heat right now, and I have a good feeling she would stand. Any tips or advice? I put a call in to my vet and am waiting for her to call back (hoping today because the mare has been showing for 3 days now).
Thanks so much. :o)

Mary, do you intend to pasture or hand breed? It does sound like today would be a good day to start.
If you look in the messages posted last week, there are suggestions for teasing etc. I would made sure that she is willing to stand to a teaser first, so that she will know what to expect. It is a plus that your stallion is experienced and gentle.
