We recently bought a TB mare in foal. Got her home and had her checked found out she was no longer in foal.( had just been breed the month before) Vet said that she would be ready to breed this Saturday and Sunday. I ordered the seman and had it here for Saturday breeding vet came out and said that she had ovulated but had a small one ready to go right that minute. She bred the mare and said she would be back today to breed again but it wouldnt be intill afternoon because she was going out of town. It is now 3pm here and still havent heard from the vet cant call because she is out of the state.I will be switching to a different vet after this and some other things that went on this week. If she does call is it worth her coming out and doing the mare again or is it pointless at this point and I will just be wasting almost $200 more on this for her to come today???
Well I can tell you this this is our first year breeding and we AI'd. The vet said one of our mares were in heat and 2 days later the semen arrived and our mare ovulated the day before and we bred and shes pregnant right now. But that was only one dose.
