Has anyone had any experience with foaling alarms like this? http://www.foalingalarm.com/equipage.htm It is attached to the mare's halter and is activated when she lays out flat in the stall. I realize you may get "false alarms" but it dosen't have to be sutured into the mare like foal alerts do. Any thoughts? |

I have equipage and couldn't live without it! I only have one mare that sets off false alarms...other than that, it's LIKE GOLD to me! |

sounds cool but expensive. I have a security camera in the barn, hooked ot a TV in my bedrooms and have it on all night so I can just wake up and look at her for a minute and go back to sleep if nothing is happening |

i have cams too....but with that approach, its a bit too iffy for me. Even waking every hour to check them is tiring, and you can STILL miss it! This way, you get to sleep! (not as if i can when i know a mare is goign to foal) but still! You invest alot more time and money getting one bred than the system costs....and after 11 months of anticipation, its a shame to throw it all away b/c of something that could have been avoided! |
