Looks like we will be having a lot of foal watches in March yeah. I can tell that the 2011 foal crop is going to be a great one.

she does? Her spine is still sticking up....she still has padding over her ribs. I think she looks thin in person just a low belly. Maybe to much hay? Giving her a pot belly look?
She is only getting 2 cups 2 x daily on feed Maybe I need to cut back to 2 cups 1 x daily?

I dont want her to be to heavy thats for sure.

when you put weight on quickly, it all tends to go right to the belly, and not evenly across the back of them. I guarantee that as long as she has enough roughage, that if you feed her 2 cups a day until december hits, then move her up to 4 cups a day, she'll be the perfect weight to foal.

I will do that then. I certainly dont want her overweight come foaling time.
I am glad your here to help, I feel like I am learning all over again. Bonny ate so much more, I guess she was just a harder keeper. But she was quite a bit bigger also.
I am sure Katie is going to snub me for cutting her feed again hahaha!

hahaha
you'll find as she gets close to the end that it takes her 1/2 the day just to eat her morning feed...she'll be just fine, I promise. She always gets really thin when her foals are about 3 months old, then it takes her a while to put it back on. No biggie.

Hi all! I am happy to be back on the breeding list. For 2011 I have 2 mares confirmed and one is at the vets being bred so hopefully I'll have 3 confirmed.

The first due is Street Wize, a 13 year old NSH mare. She is due end up Feb- beginning of March.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb141/LadyCTing/293.jpg

The second is RAG Desertsundial, a 12 year old Straight Egyptian mare due end of March.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb141/LadyCTing/325.jpg

Both are bred to my Straight Egyptian Stud Thee Flash, a bay minimal sabino.

http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb141/LadyCTing/266.jpg

Sorry the pic's are not the best. I need to get new ones as they were just a few weeks bred in those pic's.

Hi girls....

Only one for me next year... Will breed at least two back though.

Dolly:
http://secretambitionstables.com/?page_id=66

Is bred to Redwine:
http://grayfoxfarms.com/redwine.htm

Due June 28, 2010. Looking forward to this one! Redwine sired Trea's filly, Rosalie, this year. I'm very happy with her.

Hoping to breed Kate, and Gracie next year. I leased Bailey, and lost Trea a few months ago to colic. I will focus on showing my youngsters for a couple years.
