Has anyone used the EST XL H shipping containers? I found this website and think I will give them a go, great price. http://www.barakafarm.com/est/ I believe Barbara has posted on this forum in the past.
When we evaluated them some years ago, we found that the cooling curve was steeper (i.e. they cooled faster) than the generally agreed maximum. This - if it is still a problem - may affect some horses negatively.
The disposable models (the cardboard outside) have all the usual issues related to "disposable" models - e.g. potential for damage and wear leading to microcracks and leaks over a period of time if reused.
The hard case models have more "movable parts" than the Equitainer and consequently have more potential for failure over time related to wear.
We stuck with the Equitainers. Slightly more expensive in the short term, but cheaper in the long run, and we think more stable in cooling curves.
