All is fine here, although a little on the close side... we were sitting on the front porch watching the clouds and storm roll in and the conversation sort of went as follows:
"Wow, pretty impressive..." "Yeah... look at that one, that's a funnel cloud for sure... but it's a fair distance away and high" "Yup... gosh, it's really blowing now! What's going on around the corner?" "More storm coming - look at how fast those clouds are moving in the field across the road..." "Oh, wow! And they're sort of spinning too... and they're getting faster..." "Yup... [long pause] err... they seem to be getting lower too..." "And spinning faster" "And touching down, oh cr*p - grab the dogs and let's get outta here!!!!"
Which we did.
I have the sequence of photos on Facebook, which allegedly can be viewed by non-subscribers here.
We're all OK, no damage here (a couple of broken limbs on trees, but nothing more), but the neighbour's indoor arena caught it, and truck and trailer and other barns. No human injuries that I've heard of though, which is good.
So we're still here! Haven't clicked our heels and found ourselves in Kansas yet!!!
