This is just a thought that has been in the back of my mind since I had my first foaling experience. I am interested in the possibilty of owning a very small foaling farm and wonder if any of you know of a school that teaches this? I can look online, of course, but I thought some of you might either have attended one or know of someone who did.
Don't know how serious I am about it, but really kicking the idea around. But I would never attempt it without the training.
Well, I signed up for classes on horse husbandry and horsemanship. Am eager to see how in depth they cover reproduction and if there is any hands on experience.
There is a college about 300 miles from me, that actually offers hands on expereince. Students are assigned two broodmares to "watch" and foal out, during Spring semester. I may move there In December. Burrrr! It snows up there! But it would be great to take advantage of the class.
I'm very lucky to be in a position where I can take day classes, but getting experience would be the best thing.
I'm with you Bobby; I'd love to intern at a foaling farm. Sigh, I'm afraid the bug has bit! Big time!
