Thought I might post a new thread to see how the spring foals are growing and changing. Thank all of you for your posts during pre foaling days. I survived, the babies came, I am still married, and I have paid off the bills for all the vet wrap I used like 3 weeks before the mares actually foaled. Here are some recent photo's of our little ones. The black and white is a filly and the bay is a colt.

This is LuLu at 2 weeks

Look how much she has changed

Both are doing well, they halter, lead, tie, and clip. They have started taking walks around the farm with mom near by. The filly is early May and the colt was end of May.

Hope everyone is as exhausted as we are. Next year we only have one comming. Foals = Work.

Well, my first foaling/foal experience has been a great success thus far. My American Saddlebred colt, "Mac", was born on April 30:

Todd! I love it when they do that!!! Thought you had a buckskin pinto didn't you?! LOL I had an appaloosa one time who was born buckskin with a white blanket....stayed that way until his second winter...then when he shedded off, he was jet black with a blanket....People thought I got a new horse and refused to believe it was the same one...
Your baby is gorgeous! And I think you're lucky she changed...the mare is awesome too

I just sold my QH baby, Sniff. He is my first. He will be a cow pony when he grows up. I tried to attach a pic., but am having problems remembering how to do it.

Thanks you two. Yes Todd, I have come "full circle." What an experience this has been!

I guess I ought to see this sale as a win. I think he is worth $500.00 more than what I got for him, but in this market...

Still, I will use the money to complete the purchase on my new mare. I'll sure miss him, but I know he has a good home!
