Hi Folks - I thought it would be fun to post photos of our 2007 kids. Lets try to keep this to just photos and comments on the photos. I thought this might be an easier way to find out how they are all turning out? Let me know what you think.

I will be linking to my 2007 babies photos as soon as I get them all uploaded.

I love Woody. Did his knees get cut up at birth? Did everything heal without scarring? He sure looked handsome at that show. I remember I borrowed pics of him to paint, but still haven't gotten around to it. One day....I'll let you know when I do.

Awww, they are gorgeous! Love the one of Tahiti in the water.

Colleen, the black one is our other French rescue so she could well be Percheron or percheron type. She's only rising 2 and already 16.2hh!

Colleen, yes his hocks were all cut up...with a scrape on his butt. There is some scar tissue there on his hock. I guess I will know for sure how it will look this spring with his shedding.

Lovely horses all....I wish they could get together and play.

Hi Lynn~ Koko looks great! It looks like you are coming right along with her training! Good for you! Are you still ponying her? Are you thinking of keeping her at this point? How is Nugget doing? I need to post pics of my Gracie...maybe after this weekend

Hi Lynn - Koko looks all grown up. It's funny that you posted because I was just thinking about you and Koko the other day. Stella and Cash are doing great. They are both home with me.......no prospective buyers....so I guess they will be for awhile. Not sure if you saw my post in June.....We took Stella to the 2008 Pinto World Championship Show in Tulsa, OK and she placed TOP TEN in the world in 2 classes. Here's a couple of pictures though they're not the greatest shots:

Lynn! Good to hear from you again! Koko looks so good! One of these days I'm going to put a saddle on Luna for kicks.

Sandy, Cash and Stella are gorgeous!

I have a current picture of Luna that I took last night:

Jennifer - All I can saw is 'AWWWWWW" to Luna! How can our babies be getting so grown up?? I love Cash and Stella, but I sure am missing having little ones around. With the horse market so bad here in Michigan, I just can't justify breeding anymore. I sure do miss it, though!

Thanks ladies! Yes, she is a big girl! I know what you mean Sandy. I look at Luna now and don't see a baby anymore. She looks like a horse now.

I was wondering, what age do you think a horse should be started under saddle? harness? I hear a lot of conflicting opinions on starting at two. How do you know when your horse is done growing?

THANKS everybody! Sorry I haven't posted again sooner...but I am kinda fly-by on the comp...I don't spend to much time on anymore. If the weather is nice, I am usually outside. What a nice little reunion here though. I enjoyed everyone's photos! I don't think I will be selling Koko anytime soon. So , I might as well get her learning things. I haven't ponyied her in a LONG time, but she leads real well.
She is 13.3 and 650 lbs..by my tape anyway..LOL

It was so nice reading everyone's responses!
Loved it !!!

Jennifer I start them at 2 with a saddle and ground driving but dont ride them until they are at least 2 1/2 preferably 3.
I look at their knees and cannons when deciding on when they are done growing

Thanks Jenni! I figured I'll wait until she's three to ride. Do you think pulling a lightweight training cart at two would be okay or should I wait on that, too?

Hi all, I start with a littl pony saddle on my babies at 3-4 months and off and on i saddle them up and pony them out. At about 18 mos I do a little ground driving, I still continue to pony out all the time. We don't start riding till almost 3 depending on the horse...

She looks pretty bored with the whole thing! Tonight is another lesson...we are headed out to the water and see how she does with a rider and water :-)
Paso Finos grow slow so her knees were still open at 2 so I waited until she turned three.

Wow, Jan - Jasper is amazing! I love how those legs are stretched out in that first photo.

Stella is still with me - she is still my princess. She's about 15.3hh and I have a 13 year old girl riding and showing her. We show mostly English. I will eventually get some pictures on here, but I don't have current ones on photobucket.

I just sold Cash 2 weeks ago! He is 16.2hh! The gal that bought him plans on eventing - hunter jumper and dressage. He is so much like his sire but has the legs for jumping. I miss him, but I'm very happy he is with someone who will take him far!

Sandy that is so cool about Stella, I would love to see updated pictures of her. She and Cash were both so perfect. Thank you for the compliments on my boy. I just love him but miss him terribly.

Cash got to 16'2 wow he got huge! I bet he is gorgeous and to have such a wonderful new home taking him up the social ladder (lets face it dressage is UPTOWN! ;)

What ever dicipline a horse goes be it Dressage, racing or trail. If they do it well then you are blessed indeed to have them in your life, then there are those that are rescued with whom we build up trust with. To get an abused horse to learn to trust again brings forth a very special bond indeed. I think we are all blessed to have the most humble and powerful creatures on earth as companions, confidants and best friends and partners in this journey we call life.
