Can someone help me please?????
I have a 4 week old filly who has started losing her hair around her eyes. I am thinking that it may be from her halter rubbing on her when she is nursing of possibly layind down. Ha anyone heard of this before? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is out first baby and is a whole new experience for us. She is wonderful other than that. Full of energy and quite a little hand full.

Leona, what you are seeing is normal. They will start to shed their baby fuzz first around their eyes and their muzzle. They look a little silly as their true color comes out as they shed, but all babies will go thru this. Enjoy the exerience of your new foal

hi leona, yep we call that the raccoon phase! Too funny! And alot of times no matter what color the foal will be, they start out with that yellowish fuzz on the legs etc.. hang in there, the foal will lose all that baby fuzz and be beautiful!

Thank you so much. I was worried sick about her trying to figure ou what could have been wrong.. (feeling like the bad parent)!!!! I am so relieved. She is such a joy to watch and be around, I just wanted to make sure that what she is going through is OK. Thank you Again
