I ordered P&E this year from a pharmacy in Canada instead of going through BET Pharm, which I did last year. The bottle says it is preserved in 10% benzyl alcohol. I don't remember this on the BET Pharm bottle. Any idea if this is correct and whether or not it will have any effect on how the hormones work?

The carrying agent for P&E is more commonly cottonseed oil. The carrying agent in itself shouldn't make any difference in the way that the hormones work, but I would be concerned that if one is dealing with a compounding pharmacy that is not familiar with the combination that they have used either estradiol cypionate or estradiol benzoate rather than estradiol 17β, which will make a huge difference. You should therefore confirm that the drug combination used is "P4" Progesterone and Estradiol 17β.

Thanks Jos. Yes, I did make sure that they knew it had to be estradiol 17beta. I REALLY emphasized to them that it had to be the 17beta and they did use the right estradiol. }Thanks again.

Tracy, Which pharmacy in Canada did you order from?
