Not very much is required, but the blood does indeed need to be drawn from the jugular vein.
Keep the kits refrigerated when not in use, but make sure that you bring all reagents up to room temperature prior to use (i.e. take out of 'fridge for 3 or 4 hours prior to use, and have it sitting opened in a warm room). The test method is easy, but pay attention to the timing. Instructions are (should be) included.
