What is P+E? I have a mare we may have to put on regumate. What is P+E and how much is the cost?

P + E stand for Progesterone and Estradoil. Similar but not the same as regumate as it both stimulates and regulates... JOS help me out here.... I think someone on this board suggested this was cheaper by far than regumate ( 35.$) a month What she paid...
I currently pay about 230$ for a bottle of regumate that lasts me 90 days approximately.
talk with your vet as to which medication is appropraite for your mare and your unique situation.
I also would like a realy good explanation... I'm very new to all of this, it's the first time we are breeding my mare. Some of the reading I have done here is confusing me about the protocol we just used on my mare. She was given one P&E injection and then on the 10th day given a Prostiglandin injection. It sounds to me from what I have been reading that most people use the P&E for 10 days in a row? I can't imagine that because my mare had alot of swelling in her neck and it took about 6 days for it to go down..even then edema had settled into her chest in a lemon sized mass that took another 3 days to absorb. Am I misunderstanding?
