Hi

My little chap is itching himself like mad at the moment, all over his face and on his arse he is scratching and now looks like he's been in a fight

Anyone had this before or any tips to get him to stop? (Have been putting aloe vera on him to try and soothe it a little)

Thanks
Hannah

Maybe a good bath is in need. All that cradle crud could be making him itch ? Check to make sure he is lice free or not bothered by another insect.

My mare is five now and she is alergic to flies and itches like mad. But she gets hives.. if I can remember correctly she didn't have the hives her first two years. This year we started stalling her all day and letting her out at night with a fly sheet. I hate confining her but she looks like she has been beat when shes in the field.

I hope thats not what your colt has because its alot of work to maintain...worming is very inportant we have to worn her monthly
Good luck

Thanks for the tips - Mum has exceptionally sensitive skin so I think he may have too. Unfortunately cant put them out at night as around us it seems to be worse and last time I did that he was fine, but Mum was bitten all over!! Such a pain eh, looks like he may have to have his first encounter with the hose!!
