Tonight I went out and trimmed her feet up and thought, gee she looks a bit "different" so I snapped a picture. took them inside and looked at them after feeding, cleaning and getting feet done And as I compared pictures I was like oh man yes she is bagging up. So it should (famous last words) be about 5 weeks, so near my 29th wedding anniversary? Last time she stared bagging up on May 18th and foaled June 24th. I would love for her to foal on my anniversary but hubby wouldn't be impressed.
I tried like heck to get that little turkey to kick me today but the most I could get was this rolling around. Its fun to watch her whole stomach go from one side to the other. LOL Boy that pisses off Shadow. And then its really strange that one minute she doesn't look pregnant at all-until she turns around and then you go ohh there it is. LOL But she still isn't huge but we have a month or so(?), and I don't remember her getting very big with Fani. Thank God, I feel sorry for the ones that look like blimps with legs. Course then just because she only bagged up starting 5 weeks last time doesn't mean she won't start 8 weeks out this time. LOL I think its going to be a long exciting summer.
I wonder too if it might make a difference in that the stallion this time around was smaller? Last time it was a hunk of a Quarter horse, he might not have been tall but he was wide, with tree trunk legs. LOL
From the 17th of May,

Marci,

What an adorable foal! Your mare is beautiful! She looks a little like my Abstang mare Cricket who is due any day now. She's a maiden and is driving me crazy! She started getting a bag April 23rd, and I could express sticky, salty, amber liquid from her starting memorial monday. When I checked her last night her pelvic muscles had relaxed even more (there is almost no resistance now to lift her tail straight up), and her vulva was nice and puffy looking, and a dark pink inside. She's at 337 days today, so I'm really hoping maybe she'll have it this weekend b/c of the fool moon.
