Help, I am having a night mare job naming my new bright bay colt foal:

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g59/hkvmills/foal1dayold006.jpg

Dams name is Chaffinch and Sires name is Grafik. Id like it to start with the letter G, to match his dads. He is a cheeky little chappy, so nothing to plain, but also nothing so adventerous that if i ever come to sell him people dont think "oh my god wot wos she thinking?"

Im starting to wish that he had come out with a name already stamped on his head!! This has got to worse than naming human babies!!!!

Any suggestions would be VERY gratefully recieved!! Thanks

Hannah,
Your new colt is adorable. I don't know how fancy you like, but here are a couple of G names.... Gambler, Grayson, Grant and Glory. We considered using Glory if Isabelle was a boy since she was born on Mem. Day weekend!HTH

Gustavo, or Guss Guss, Garland, Gibson, Gates, Gage, Gaile, Garvin, Gawen, Gergo, Gib, Guilio, Gun, Gunther, Gaylord?

We had colt we were having an awful time naming. His Dam's name is Reeds Zan Special and his sire is Bronsisn's Legend. Normally the name formula follows this, FABS Frosty(for the sire) insert name here. Last night my mother was out looking at the babies and says to this nameless colt, "oh colt, you're not so special, you're just sufficient." So now she is dead set on him being Fabs FrostySufficient, and calling him Fishy! Moral of the story hurry up and get that colt a name or you never know what you might get!

Thank you so much for your suggestions, both of you have actually suggested names that are on my (at the moment very long) shortlist (Gambler from u Karen) and (Gibson from u Megan). Everytime i decide on a name i then think of something better. That has happened at least 10 times. He and momma are still at stud at the moment, due to come home on saturday. I think i am going to have to wait till he comes home before i make any definate decisions, at least then i will know him a bit better and will can see wot suits him! Any other suggestions would be warmly welcomed tho.

Hi Hannah,

Are you a Lord of The Rings fan? How about GANDALF}, an old Norse name, Wizard, meaning cane-elf, his life span is immortal.....

My percheron mare is due pretty soon and we are having alot of problems thinking of a good powerful name for a filly or a colt. Mom is huge and black. Her name is Maggie Mae. Not very powerful. Dad is the biggest blackest Percheron I have ever seen. Both have very arched necks and manes about 2-3 feet long each! My husband likes Xavier for a colt. Kinda hard to just spit out. Any suggestions on both? Here is my sweet mare http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h127/drutledge5150/sideviewofmaggie.jpg
