Rio has started to turn into a little boy!! Agghhh : )
She has a lump underneath her and I called the vet at 9.00am and they said it doesnt sound infected just keep an eye on her - I called them in the evening, they said the same - I called them 1 hr later when it was bleeding and I though all of my little girls insides where going to fall outside!
It seems her umbilical cord is thickened and is causing some problems so she is on antibiotics and blue vet spray on the belly (which is actually turning her green!) until its better - I hope the lump goes down afterwards because she really does look like a little boy at the moment..
It is making handling awkward because she doesnt like the spray and syringe very much so Its ruining the catching regime!! and she is VERY fiesty, the vet was surprised how much of a fight she put up for him when he came. She is fine when I have to do it alone though - she hates it but we can manage...
So - one more vet visit, friday night call out, emergency appointment - £161 !! Next time I get a new one its a 12yr old draught horse!!
