Well, in the event that she IS pregnant, I need to start thinking of building a foal stall- I keep my 4 horses mostly in pipe corral stalls and turn out on 3 acres.

So- what size would be good for my 14h mare? Any ideas for materials, etc? I like hearing what others have done and tried already. :-)

I have a peg. mare to and I asked the same question. I was told that a 14'x14' is a good size for a foaling stall. As for materials you can use wood and sheet metal. On the door if your going to have one, you need to make sure the door goes to the ground becuase, I have heard on this site that people have lost their foals. The foal had gotten their feet suck under the door and broke their legs.
Hopes this helps!

That does help, thanks! I guess I'll go check through the archives again-

I was wondering with 12 x 24 might work- but I'm kinda worried about the 12 being wide enough.

And good reminders on the gate! The panels will be easy I have fencing to put along them, but I'll have to wire something for the gate.

I have heard of a 12x24 being a good size. I don't think it's to wide.

My mare foaled out in a 12x14 stall and had no problems at all. The 12x24 will be plenty big for them unless you have a draft horse?

Nope, in fact, she's a large pony!

I have her in about a 22 x 24 now, and the small pony in a 12 x 24. I still have to foal proof and extend the shelter, but they should be all set soon.

Of course, after all this I'm guaranteed NOT to have any foals...

Thanks for the input everyone!
