My 374 day pregnant mare, Missy showed many signs of impending labor today (most listed on "369 days.." posting along with lots of pictures)This evening, a neighbor and his friends rode up a bunch of horses to the property and took them over to Missy's pen (which I really didn't like...)and she came running up to the gate with her tail in the air! Is this normal or okay behavior for a VERY PREGNANT mare??? She didn't try to back up to them through the gate or anything but her tail did stay up for quite some time. Help!! After the long wait, I am about ready to pull my hair out!

Stormy my mare has been holding her tail out for weeks now (Im at 322 days) and she has been chasing around looking like an arab with her tail stuck high up in the air at the motorbikes and things that go past the field. She is doing just fine - very calm and happy considering that huge belly that she is dragging around everywhere with her. She probably was holding her tail up because of pressure from the baby was she? rather that in heat or anything...

She was holding out her tail yesterday and walking that way but when those horses were there, she had it up (like peeing UP, she was not peeing but it looked like how she holds her tail when she does) and ran to the fence!
