5AM this morning Classy delivered a beautiful filly. She has already been up running circles around mom and trying to buck and rear. She was looking to eat before she was even completely born. I am so happy and she was born on my birthday, I could never ask for a better gift. Without further ado Please help me welcome Sheri's Blue Angel Raine http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f34/lilbitkansas/ |

Congrats Marie!! Guess what ??? we FINALLY got a filly about 2 a.m. this morning !!! Sophie made waiting worthwhile when she delivered a perfect, petite little palomino filly out of Listolena! (and I promise to get some photos of the three new ones nobody has seen yet this week !) I'm just totally swamped with keeping up with work, chores, breeding.. housework?? um, no.. it's a wreck.. but you get the idea.. I'll be glad when hubby is back 100% right now, he's a couch/lounge chair ornament. Poor thing, he's having a hard time snapping back.. Still have 4 mares left to foal..all 320+ days and Frosty is now 345.. and holding. (but her legs are getting very swollen now and you can see the baby move up in her hips at times so I'd say she's not far off now) Ev |

Jan O- thanks for the well wishes and the prayers, we can use all the help we can get. The poor man's face has become even more weak these past couple of days. He now cannot close the eye at all so I have to physically close and tape it shut at night. The Dr keeps saying it will improve, I hope that he is correct. Peggie- thanks, I'm trying.. if I could be home all the time it would be easier, but I'm still having to put in 30hs a week at work..<sigh> Just have to keep on, keeping on !! I hope our darn stallion gets some of these mares pregnant the first cover..I'll be sick of leading him to the round pen before the next few weeks are over! |

Congratulations Evie!! Those cream gene babies are my absolute favorites. My palomino mare Tiffany foaled on April 20. It was her TENTH baby and she finally, for the very first time, hed a creme gene baby. A beautiful buckskin colt that is just the sweetest baby I have ever seen, and that is not exagerating! I am definately breeding her back to the same stud this year. I am really hoping for a buckskin or palomino filly to replace Tiffany when she retires. Here is a link to pics and a description of the new cutie:http://apdhorses.com/foals.htm Anyway, congrats to all with new babies out there. |

EVIE- i knew youd get at least one filly!!! awesome!!! as far as your hubbys face, i would imagine it is nerve swelling from he surgery, and when it goes down he should be ok! mine was that way too, had to tape it shut and use duolube to keep it lubricated becasue it did not blink! so give him my well wishes! i know how hes feeling! |

Thanks to all for the congrats, prayers and well wishes! No new babies this morning that I know of, would it be TOO much to ask that these mares just hurry up and wrap things up for the year?? I'm tired and not enjoying this so much anymore..lol. When breeding season starts, foaling season needs to be over with.. sheez..the stallion and I are getting a really good relationship these days. ( i.e. he starts screaming when he sees me coming.. somehow I think it's not ME he's really excited to see, but rather where I'm taking him that makes him joyous! ) He's behaving very well and learning to enjoy his work as well as becoming more efficient in the process itself. I DO appreciate my husband a great deal more now having to fill or at least TRY to fill his shoes while he's down with this surgery. Kris- thanks for the update about the nerve. His swelling seems to be pretty well gone now on the outside anyway, they've stopped the steroids too so I hope the inner swelling is pretty well gone too. He did experience the worst headache thus far last night.. something about laying down to sleep just does not agree with him. We go back to the Dr tomorrow, maybe he'll have some answers. |

Ev happy to hear hubby is doing a bit better. Best wishes on his Dr. appt tomorrow. Is it not amazing how much you appreiciate what someone else does till you have to fill their shoes for them. Good luck with all, keep your head held high and proud for what you are accomplishing. Can I ask, I know somewhere you have said, what part of Kansas are you from? Is it near the MO boarder? |
