I have narrow it down to this two stallions. I don't know which one to pick and we are planing on breeding this upcoming month. Which one would you pick?

The mare is a Champagne and white TWH
15.1hh

The Black Stallion is 17.3hh tall

The Black and white stallion is 15.1hh tall

Both are very well temper they are both proven in the showring and both have great bloodline

Angela, I guess it depends on what you want to do with that foal and what type mare you are breeding. Are both of these stallions gaited? is your mare gaited? I'm a QH gal myself, but I had a gaited mare growing up. Also you might consider your mares pedigree in deciding which stallion to use. Good luck, Ev.

Hello

They both have differnet bloodlines but they are both good lines.

Pure Black. The only thing is my mare grandsire is the stallion sire is that a bad thing?

Well The foal is already sold so. If just I'm a little scared to breed her to the pure black stallion due to the fact that he is 17.3hh tall and my mare is only 15.1hh and this is her first foal .

My mare is gaited and both stallion are gaited.

I'm a quarter/paint horse person my self but I had a good fall last year and with the long riding that I do in fair, and 4h show I need something a little smoother. Till my hip heal to the point i can ride a non-gaited horse again. And the mare is a really nice horse

Oh mare is on those links as well she is the champagne and white

Thank you for the help.

I still really like the solid black. He has the conformation of the old champians. As to the sire, grandsire issue it depends on who the horse is, you know if it has great qualities it passes on or not so great qualities. It is okay to breed that way it is called line breeding. They do it pass on great qualities but unfortunately they pass on poor ones as well. Research the ancestors not just for champions but for temperment. The Pusher C.G. is a champion but they keep him in a stall with electric wire. He's pretty and can gait be he's mean and spaztic. And it has shown up on some of his get. and generally mares won't grown colts bigger then they can deliver. I thought a nieghbor was crazy for breeding two maiden light horses to a draft stallion but they foaled out just fine.
Good Luck
Windy

Thank you everyone I talk to the vet friday and he said he wants to see her AI due to her age and that he can watch her better, so the black/white stallions wins as the pure black one only does live cover.
