our paint mare, estimated due to foal around the 28th of February, was standing by the stallion pen (seperated by a double fence )acting like she was coming into heat yesterday. I was puzzeld but then put it off as "nah, impossible". But then she did it again today. She was talking to him, lifting her tail and stood at the fence for a long time. This mare is due any time now and is showing signs like swollen vulva, huge udder, relaxed croup and she looks a little exhausted since yesterday. Today she keeps on going back to the stallion pen.
My TB mare has acted in heat throughout her pregnancy... and unless she is growing the largest tumor known to man is definitely bred. She sure loves to flirt with her "boy" though!
Well, said mare had her baby last night. I took some pics and will upload them tomorrow.
