I have a maiden mare and have no clue as to breeding date. Bought her already in foal. Two weeks ago she had a bag that was about half full, milk was thick, clear and dark yellow, was restless and kicking belly. Croup almost non existent, vulva lengthened and lots of tail swishing, shifting from foot to foot and moving every few minutes. Now her bag is almost gone but I can tell the baby has changed position in the last few days. She has been down "practicing" for the last two weeks. She rubs her whole body on everything including the other mare in the pasture with her. I know this is all normal but anybody have any idea how much longer she may go????? I am going crazy!!!!!!!

I would keep a real close eye on her. Sounds like she is very close. Being a maiden mare, you just don't know how things will go. Best of luck to you & your mare for a healthy foal.

Thank you. She has been doing this for almost two weeks now. Getting very tired. Her tail has almost no resistance now at all. I can pull it up over her back and she can't pull it away. I just wish she would go ahead and do something. I have another maiden mare due in April. I know her breeding dates though.
