The mare that was kicked is 9 months pregnant. Would this cause the mare to abort? It never seemed to bother her much and she is fine tonight but I am just worried. If she doesn't show any signs of aborting/colic in the first 24 hrs., you are probably safe. I saw a mare once lose her footing (running)and land very hard on her side - hard enough to knock the wind out of her - the foal came out normal a couple weeks later.
